“I knew I wanted to be a part of that,” said Davis, 20, a Little Egg Harbor native and junior exercise science major.

Now, as Davis faces an unimaginable challenge—a diagnosis of Ewing sarcoma, a rare bone cancer—her sorority sisters are returning the kindness she brought to their sisterhood, rallying around her with unwavering support.

As of Friday, Nov. 15, just five days after diagnosis, more than $12,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe started by the sisters of AEPhi.

Davis first noticed sporadic symptoms last April, puzzling her doctors. She found herself feeling sore and tired often, with no viable explanation. After months of tests and consultations, her world changed on Monday, Nov. 11, when she learned she had a tumor in the center of her chest.

With her treatment plan still in development, Davis is meeting new doctors and undergoing additional tests. Despite the uncertainty, her sorority sisters have rallied behind her, naming her tumor “Stacy” and adopting the rallying cry, “F*** Stacy,” to inspire donations and support.

“The last thing Kayla should be worrying about is money,” her sisters said. “We’d love any donation possible to help lessen her burdens during this time.”

For Davis, the support has been overwhelming.

“My sorority sisters have been incredible,” she said. “I can’t imagine how different this journey would be without them. They’ve stepped up to help me so quickly, and I can’t thank them enough for their kindness and support.”

The AEPhi community is asking for donations to help ease Davis’ financial burden as she fights Ewing sarcoma. Every contribution helps Davis focus on what matters most: her health.
